Brody’s family moved into a new place when he was still a puppy. And everyone in their new neighborhood loved Brody. Who could resist a fluffy St. Bernard puppy?

Sally, a senior who is one of Brody’s numerous ardent followers, lives right next door to Brody’s family, with nothing but a lawn separating their homes. Because of this proximity, Sally frequently fed the bouncy furball bread and let him hang out while she watered her plants.

It is hardly surprising that the enormous dog has taken a liking to the old widow and frequently visits her. Soon, the frequency of the visits increased dramatically. Sally anticipated Brody’s daily visits. Brody would peer through Sally’s window ledge to check on her when she was not near the door.

Eventually, the St. Bernard matured and increased in size, and boy, did he grow! Sally referred to Brody as “this little beast,” but whenever she sees him, she gives him tons of hugs and kisses as if he were still a puppy. Together, they would sit on Sally’s sofa and watch their preferred weather station.

Sally’s mobility became increasingly challenging as time passed. The hunch on her shoulders grew more pronounced, but she never failed to greet Brody with a warm embrace. One day, Brody observed from Sally’s window sill that his favorite neighbor was absent.

He returned the next day in search of his old friend. Still, Sally cannot be located. He simply did not comprehend. Where has Sally been?

The owners of Brody were fully aware of what had transpired with their elderly neighbor. Due to a heart attack, the elderly woman had to give up her home and move into foster care. The owners of Brody could not bear to see their enormous baby son sad, so they all piled into their car and traveled to Sally’s nursing home.
