For most of us, optical illusions only exist in photos. However, for a fur mom named Imogen Carr, there is always a living optical illusion in her living room.
In what Carr affectionately calls the “Labrador Cuddle Puddle,” her pack of black labradors always pile atop each other before taking a nap. These dogs enjoy snuggling.
Of the eight labs, there are always some identifiable snouts poking out; however, not all the pooches are visible. As much as the fur mom likes to get to the cuddle puddle’s bottom, she loves making it into a game for others.
In a TikTok video, she asks people to guess how many dogs are in the cuddle puddle. In the beginning, there seem to be only three dogs cuddled together. However, as the camera comes closer to the pile, a fourth face is revealed—Sway.
It is not always the black labs that would snuggle to make a pile. Another TikTok video of the fur mom shows a new cuddle puddle consisting of black labs and cocker spaniels.
Carr has not been able to capture the dogs while snuggling up on camera. But she has given some insight into how the cuddle pile usually begins.
She said Sway would go and get comfortable and lie down. Then, one by one, the others would pile on top. Sway loves being at the bottom but isn’t always the only one. At times, other dogs would initiate the cuddle puddle but end up being in the middle, such as Rogue.
Since there is usually at least one pooch buried deep, they may seem uncomfortable. However, Carr shares with her TikTok followers that her dogs choose to nap and cuddle this way despite other available couches and beds.
Whatever their arrangement, these affectionate dogs love being in their cuddle puddle. And Carr’s followers enjoy figuring out the optical illusion.
Predicting which dogs will be in the puddle the next day is impossible. But, for sure, the people on Tiktok will be waiting to solve yet another living optical illusion. In the meantime, these loving dogs will keep loving and snuggling with each other.
