A man named Timofey Yuriev and his wife, Melissa, decided to take their Golden Retriever, Kira, for a hike. They took the Peter Oley Trail System to get to Irvington Woods.

While on the trail, they came upon two dogs trapped in a frozen lake. To save the two doggos, Timofey and the Golden Retriever leapt into action. They certainly knew that didn’t have any time to waste.

Timofey stripped down and dove immediately into the frigid water, working his way towards the trembling dogs. Kira was right there with him. Timofey needed to break through the ice in order to reach the dogs in distress.

Timofey learned to swim from his grandfather when he was a child in Kazakhstan. As a child, he had lessons in frigid water so this isn’t a completely new thing for him.

When they reached the first dog, they assisted him in returning to shore safely. Melissa took the dog and attempted to dry and warm him up.

Timofey and Kira needed to save one more dog so they dove back into the freezing water. They all returned to the shore when they secured the dog.

The dogs’ owner was nearby, and she stated that they had just gone for a stroll. She was taken aback when the two dogs began to take a different course and ended in the freezing lake.

Melissa was able to capture the entire incident, which she then uploaded on her social media account. She is grateful to have a husband who is willing to assist in the rescue of those dogs. She’s also proud of Kira, who has remained at her husband’s side to assist him.

When the dogs were rescued, their owner was relieved. She expressed her gratitude to Timofey, Melissa, and Kira for being present on that fateful day.
