Rescue partners JoAnn Wiltz and Alex Babcock of the renowned animal rescue group Hope For Paws headed out right away when they learned that a family of Rottweillers was spotted in the desert. They were told the animals could be vicious so they proceeded with extra caution.

A Good Samaritan who lived close by came out and met the rescuers. He informed them that the dogs stayed at a deserted property. For months, they lived on their own, and not once did any of them interact with humans.

The Rottweillers let out warning barks when the rescuers arrived. JoAnn and Alex immediately started building trust with the dogs by feeding them. The rescuers were up for the challenge and they had a plan.

JoAnn thought getting their vehicle inside the property was the quickest way to secure the dogs. She bravely but cautiously slipped through, ensuring the rottweilers didn’t escape through the entrance as she came in.

The dogs, fortunately, trusted JoAnn enough and welcomed her in. Relieved that the dogs did not become territorial, she then instructed Alex to carefully drive their vehicle into the compound. Once done, the rescuers proceeded with the next step of their plan.

Alex distracted the older Rottweilers while JoAnn secured the younger one. Once she secured the pup in a crate, JoAnn then helped Alex with the other two, which turned out to be the mother and father dogs. Alex secured the mom while JoAnn took on the dad.

The male dog showed more hesitation, so the rescuers used the female’s trust to assure him. JoAnn successfully looped the father pooch with a Lucky Leash. Alex, meanwhile, had no trouble securing the playful mother doggo.

The dogs, now named Gladiator, Spartacus, and Sura, are safe in their foster home with the nonprofit group The Little Red Dog. They are doing great, and they look forward to finding their forever families in no time.
