To most people, dogs are like their family, and they wouldn’t wish any harm to come upon them. That’s why it’s baffling to see someone deliberately abuse their dogs. Such people need to be punished and stripped of the right to own pets.

Somewhere in South Korea, an animal rescue organization tracked down a man responsible for dragging his dogs behind a moving truck. It was a scene witnessed by several concerned citizens, and they reported it to local authorities. Shortly after, a team of rescuers tracked the path of the reported vehicle, which led them to a factory.

Two dogs were found at the location. These dogs had injuries on their knees and paws, making them likely to be the victims. The rescue team checked a video of the incident sent to them, and they confirmed that the dogs they saw matched those in the video.

The rescuers got help from the city hall to issue a summon for the dog owner. During the confrontation, the owner was unapologetic and made many excuses for why he committed the cruel act. None of his reasons made any sense, and it was clear he was only remorseful because he was caught.

After the confrontation, the rescue team went back to the factory to retrieve the two dogs. A team of veterinarians was also there to dress their wounds. Some of the people there became emotional as they watched the dogs being tended to.

Some of the people who participated in the rescue expressed their dismay towards the situation. However, they were glad that they arrived before it was too late. They knew that not every dog survives such an incident.

Meanwhile, an interview with a lawyer confirms the sad reality of dog abuse in South Korea. Despite the severity of the case, the abuser might only get a light punishment at best. Unless the dog owner has previous similar violations, they are only required to pay a fine.

The abuser might not have been sent to jail, but at least the dogs are alive. The rescuers did what they had to do before anything worse happened. They could only hope that they never have to witness something like that again.
