The Royal Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals in England is searching for the man who abandoned an injured blue merle Greyhound. The dog has a gaping cut in the chest after being assaulted by another dog.

When confronted by a woman who saw the suspect walking the injured dog, he stated that he planned to abandon the dog on a Leeds estate. The woman acted immediately, rushing the dog to a 24-hour medical clinic where he has undergone surgery for the approximately 12-inch long wound.

During the surgery, the vet observed that the dog has a microchip and is named Blue. However, when authorities contacted the family whose microchip was registered, they discovered that Blue had been sold by his previous owners 18 months ago. Emma Ellis, an animal rescue inspector, is currently looking into the issue to determine who is to blame for the dog’s condition.

Ellis told Leeds Live that she is determined to find Blue’s owner and encourages anyone with information to get in touch with her. The dog, she claims, has a distinct look, and she is confident that someone will identify him. In addition, she suspects he may have lived in the area where he was located.

Ellis also said that someone attempted to glue Blue’s wound to delay veterinary treatment. Blue was wounded after being attacked by another canine, according to Ellis. Someone tried to fix the injuries but did not transport him to the hospital right away, even though he was visibly in need of treatment. Blue was fortunate to live because his wounds were severe, and he lost so much blood.

According to the woman who saw him, the suspect was white, tall, and had dark hair. He was in his early twenties and dressed in a blue coat and dark sweatpants. Anyone with information about the man or the dog is urged to contact the RSPCA as soon as possible.

Blue is now at the RSPCA’s Greater Manchester Animal Hospital, where he is safe and well. While no one knows for sure what cruelty Blue suffered at the hands of humans, it is clear that Blue is thankful to be alive.
