Chewie is a lovable Yorkshire Terrier puppy that was found alone in Santa Ana Park in Orange County, California. A rescue organization named OC Animal Care immediately sent rescuers to get him when they learned that the pup’s front legs were both broken.

The injured puppy was taken to an animal clinic, where they learned that the fractures were a few weeks old and already healing. Unfortunately, though, his bones were not setting properly. He needs surgery to correct the dilemma.

Amazing personality

Chewie was an instant hit with his rescuers and the medical team. The young pup was very affectionate and trusting of humans. His amiable character suggested to the staff that he grew up surrounded by a loving family. The Yorkie’s injuries may have resulted from an accident because he was a very active and excitable pooch.

It was very likely that his family adored him. But because they couldn’t afford her treatments, they abandoned him at the park, hoping that someone with a good heart would help their pet. Luckily, that is exactly what happened.

OC Animal Care was determined to help the poor pup, and through their foundation, they were able to raise the required funds needed to cover his treatments. After his surgery, both legs were placed in a cast.

Unstoppable

Being the active and energetic puppy that he is, his leg casts couldn’t stop him from jumping and running around. Chewie loves to play with anyone willing to give him some attention. And while he was recovering, the rescue group started looking for his new family.

With a personality like his, Chewie had no difficulties attracting interest. A family living near Huntington Beach adopted him just a few weeks after he was rescued. He now regularly enjoys his favorite activity, running near the sea with his new canine siblings.
