Well, there really is a fine line between funny and childish. A line that not too many groups of friends tend to notice. The crazier the joke, the better. Especially if it includes a dose of public humiliation at the poor victim’s expense. But on that fateful day, Steven Shrout wasn’t really a victim.
He actually has a duty to complete that specific task. To walk into a dog park, covered in peanut butter, wearing nothing but his undies. It might be confusing how this can be a duty to a grown man. It’s because that task was a consequence. Steven lost a bet with his buddies, and that was the wager that they had agreed upon.
One of the witnesses to this peculiar event was Clinton Butler. He was at the dog park, with his pup hanging around with other dog owners and their pets, when Steven walked in. At first, their eyebrows were raised. They were keeping their eye on Steven as being naked out in public isn’t exactly an image that projects trustworthiness.
But Clinton became at ease when he realized what was going on. He figured out that Steven lost a bet because of Steven’s reactions. When he went into the dog park, he looked terribly embarrassed, and he showed that he did not mean any harm to the dogs.
In an interview, Steven explained what happened. It turns out he and his friends were playing fantasy football, and he lost big time. He was the lowest scoring player among his friends, and as a consequence for being in last place, he had to do this task. Luckily for Steven, the dogs only licked him, and nobody bit him.
Also, he was at risk of being arrested for being out in public with only his underwear on. But no cops saw him, and nobody from the park made a complaint as they already realized that this was only a practical joke among a bunch of guys.
