Shey is an old dog who has been living for a good number of years already at the Animal Rescue League which is based in Iowa. Many people have come and gone but they never chose to adopt Shey. This was perhaps because of his age and adopters are usually looking for young dogs.

When Shey was dumped by his former owner at the shelter, he was already old. Aside from that, he was also sick. This made finding an adopter for him even more difficult.

Volunteers at the shelter say that Shey may be old but he is caring, very sweet, and has a great personality. He has become friends with almost all dogs there. But despite his positive traits, people still did not choose him.

Luck seemingly was on Shey’s side when, one day, Tristan, a young boy, came to visit. Tristan came with his mom and they were in the search for a dog to bring home with them. Tristan’s mom said that her son preferred to have a dog that he could really relate with.

When the volunteers heard of this, they thought that Shey would be a great choice. It was a great idea because upon meeting for the first time, the young boy and the old dog had an instant connection.

Tristan let Shey stay on his lap and the dog just relaxed there. The kid also gave the dog a hug and started playing with its tummy. Tristan was happy and his mom saw that the two were going to be good together.

Tristan and his mom decided that Shey was the dog to adopt. The kid also learned about the dog’s past and he felt bad for it. However, he vowed to make sure that Shey gets all he needs and they would create great memories together.
