At the age of 74, Tex Gilligan recovered at Texas Hospital after being accidentally shot while he was out hunting in the woods of New Mexico.

At first, he thought that he was alone in the woods and that he was just a victim of a random sniper. He was shot on the back through the driver’s seat of his car. He also suffered from three broken ribs, a punctured lung, and a broken shoulder.

Tex was actually considered lucky, despite the fact that he didn’t bring his cellphone with him during this hunting. He was surprised when the investigating police found out that the perpetrator was actually Gilligan’s 120-pound Rottweiler mix. The county Sheriff determined that Gilligan has been accidentally shot by his own dog, Charlie.

Charlie was one of the three dogs he’d brought on his jackrabbit hunting trip. The law enforcement representative said that the gun was positioned in the truck with the barrel facing up towards Gilligan.

Gilligan’s son, Mark, was indeed grateful for the quick actions of the Sheriff’s Deputies because without them his Dad would have ended up dead. He also confirmed that it was normal for his dad to take his three dogs Charlie, Cowboy, and Scooby on hunting out for rabbits near Las Cruces. His Dad is really fond of his pets.

In the end, Gilligan had no trouble on forgiving Charlie for the mishap. It was really an accident, and he believed that Charlie didn’t mean to do it because he knew that he’s a good dog.

That’s the essence of love in any kind of relationship in this world. McGill once said that there’s no forgiveness without love, and there’s no love without forgiveness. So we must develop our capacity to forgive for it would make us stronger.a
