Cats and dogs are commonly known to be mortal enemies despite them being the two animals that are often brought into homes as pets. They just do not get along well. Occasionally, however, we read about cats and dogs that have developed strong friendships with each other.
This story, however, may not be about the friendship between a cat and dog but it can definitely show you that not all dogs and cats despise each other.
Brownie is a dog that Pidong Borromeo of Naga City, Camarines Sur, Philippines, adopted. One day, he observed that his dog was carrying an object in its mouth and was acting suspiciously. Pidong wanted a closer look at the dog because he became curious and what he witnessed startled and astonished him.
It appeared that Brownie had discovered a deceased cat. Brownie initially attempted to revive the cat, presumably in the hope that it might live. When the dog realized it was already too late, the dog grabbed the cat with its mouth. Pidong’s dog’s action astonished him and so he took out his phone and started recording a video.
In the video, Brownie was seen digging the dirt with his paws. He buried the cat after digging a large enough hole in the ground to fit the cat’s body. Then, Brownie proceeded to bury the deceased cat.
Pidong was thrilled to watch Brownie and considered this to be one of his dog’s greatest accomplishments. He admired the dog’s spontaneous compassion for another animal. Consequently, he declared that he would cook Brownie a lovely meal for this amazing thing he did. In the post, Pidong also commented on Brownie’s protectiveness of his dog sibling.
Numerous canine habits continue to surprise us. However, Brownie has shown that his are exceptional. His level of empathy is unparalleled. He is a one-of-a-kind, incredibly lovable pet that will surely make any pet owner proud.
